The interest of the Desideri family, owners to this day of the Utilplastic brand, in plastic processing began as early as 1959 with its founder Giampiero Desideri and later with his son Massimo, who still continues the business today.
After 10 years, Utilplastic was born, thus giving concrete and definitive form to the family production. Today, the company owns a factory of approximately 10,000 square metres, 4,000 of which are covered. The production facilities are the most modern available, equipped with computerised process controls and robotised handling. The warehouses allow a high standard production stock and the possibility of customised production for individual customers.
A new way of using plastic through recycling, the real kind. Since 2011, this has been the philosophy behind Utilgreen’s household product line. This is our future. The articles in the Utilgreen range are beautiful on the inside, because of the material they are made of: a special plastic that comes from the separate collection of household waste. A material that would otherwise be destined for landfills or incinerators.
Our contribution to sustainability does not stop only at the recycling of waste materials.
Building on Utilgreen’s experience, our contribution to sustainability reaches an important new milestone in 2022 with the production of items made from fully biodegradable plastics.
This project has enabled us to develop specific materials that can be used on our products, and first among them are items for animal care and gardening.
Thanks to our close collaboration with research laboratories in the university world, and our long experience in the field, we are now able to design new, fully bio products or plan productions of existing items in bio mode, to be carried on with more environmentally aware customers, while also continuing our research on biodegradable plastics.
The production facilities are the most modern available, equipped with computerised process controls and robotic handling.
Our main processes are:
Injection Moulding
The machine park consists of 10 presses from 100 to 650 tons. The presses are assisted by Cartesian robots and are networked to a server for the control of key parameters and production planning. Each press has its own dedicated temperature controller for precise control of process temperatures. We mould both thermoplastics and technopolymers.
Bi-material moulding
With presses equipped with satellite injectors we can obtain components with different materials and colours using both over-moulding and co-moulding techniques.
IML-Moulding
With IML (In Mould Labelling) moulding, we can obtain components with any type of decoration even with photographic resolution directly in the production phase.
Pad Printing
With the pad printing service we can apply trademarks, logos and lettering to the parts in a versatile way after production.
